Introduction

“RailRoads” are humanoid control modules which are paired with a locomotive. However, many rail lines had been discontinued due to the rising popularity of ‘aerocrafts’, a safe and convenient aerial mode of transport. As such, their accompanying RailRoads also went into a deep sleep.

Soutetsu had lost his entire family in a rail accident and was adopted into the Migita household, which runs a shochu brewery in the city of Ohitoyo. He returned to his hometown to save it from the potential water pollution that would occur if they accepted the proposal to build an aerocraft factory nearby. He woke up the RailRoad Hachiroku by accident and became her owner. For different purposes, they agreed to help find her lost locomotive, with the help of his imouto Hibiki, the town’s mayor and local railway chief, Paulette and others.

taken from Micchi’s summary description cause I’m a lazy.

this is Hachiroku’s main OP as each Heroine has their own OP except sub charas

Characters

ハチロク (Hachiroku)

The Train… I mean Railroid that Soutetsu accidentally finds from his adaptive father’s belongings the “top number” of the 8620 Train series, after the train accident with the loss of Soutetsu’s parents her train was “laid” to rest due to the damages, yes her train was present during the accident that changed Soutetsu’s life and ever since then has been afraid of making a rail mistake ever again.

右田 日々姫 (Migita Hibiki)

Soutetsu’s foster little sister, she is quite artistic and also tries to help her onii-chan in all of her capacity and damn it I’m forgetting much of the details of the game! geh…

雛衣 ポーレット (Hinai Poulette)

You can say she’s the first character that Soutetsu meets… as a loli :X, anyway Mayor of Ohitoyo and is also the “Owner” of Reina the Railroid of the Kiha 07S a Diesel Train she also runs the train to carry passengers on her free time… so much for being Mayor, she has a “docile” personality that makes her public-servant life quite hard on her which is pretty much the plot of her route

and so these are the main characters for the main routes of the game… there are a lot more sub-routes before you can reach the “true route” I find that system weird I mean sure I’m used to complete all heroines route to reach true end but even the SUB-CHARAS?

System

Title

Title
The title screen the gimmick here is that you can change the Title BG as you progress through the routes you pretty much get the last CG you see per character’s route as your background it also switches the BGM per BG

Textbox

Textbox
The text box has a “scroll line” at the bottom that would say how long is each “chapter” and then you can view and listen to dictionaried text if you wish to do so YES the game has some depth with it’s lexicon MOST OF ALL ITS BLOODY VOICED!

Backlog

backlog
Backlog… while technically it actually overlaps with the scroll line from the text box, which you can just drag to replay scenes likewise I guess it could still have some uses yes there’s a scene jump function

Selection

Selection
Ideally I can’t call this a selection but there is one in the game only 1 determines the route of the major heroines the rest you can start from the main menu after your first route that also includes the main heroine routes. grand route won’t unlock until every single route is finish… again… I do not know why nor could I call the grand route as a “true route”

Config

Option
its quite face value and very simply “given” it is joined with save and load, sprite viewer and gallery viewer just like how Whirlpool does it

Load and Save

Load
Load and save screen is a bit of a nisnomer as it’s called “bookmarks” in this game yeah… you have save data management as well as a “list” of saved data bookmarks so if your saving often and on different routes it can also filter routes

Omake mode

CG Menu

Omake
ahh the Omake menu… click one picture and then you get animation sliders… yes cause this game pretty much uses the E-mote engine to it’s fullest if you can call that the fullest

Recollection Menu

Recollection
H-scenes arent part of the main story YOU CAN TOTALLY SEE WHY SEKAIPRO PICKED IT UP you only get the H-scenes after you play the route click while imagining having fucked a train… boning your sword anyone? what’s this… Muramasa… no wait… that’s Yuzu-soft feeling your blade’s flatness… Mmmm… 2-h scenes for major chara 1 h-scene for sub charas… minus the omake H scenes for Hachiroku
Scene Viewer
or you can use the chapter viewer either way…

Music Menu

Music
Mmm… a lot of music… not sure if I remember liking them… mmm

Opinions/Last Words

I’ll be honest this is my first Lose title to read I mean sure… lolis… trains… well I’m not going to jump on this bandwagon for now after all the EN localization has already been announced so why would I care… cura’s art is ok but it could be a hate it or like it deal, the story… well I would have preferred that icha-ichaing sub-charas shouldnt be needed to view the “true end” of the game I mean some of them barely affect the “storyline proper” or just make it so that major heroine’s are just given their proper conclusion that would definitely not artificially inflate game’s length over-all I mean sure the sub routes are like 3-4 hours long…
Story: 6/10
Character: 7/10
CGs: 8/10
Music: 5/10
As Soutetsu would say… ITS A PROJECT FOR TRAIN MANIACS I mean kimoi-densha-ota *ohh lalala*
