Guilty Crown?… is that you?

We start our game with Kaburagi Ayumu our protagonist for this story, as he is going to an Island where years ago a meteor fell from the sky and made a new element called Enigmite AKA Apocalypse Virus because it really is the Apocalypse Virus in another form, upon arriving to the Island he for some unknown reasons looses his memories (it wasn’t explained clearly either why), all he knows his ability is called engagement and its a power booster through exchange of bodily fluids…. AKA living Mana Pool for them Bishoujos, he is then welcomed by a girl who introduces herself as his childhood friend Kuraki Ena, she explains to Ayumu that there are monsters rampaging around the islands and its up to them Enigmite users to stop the rampaging monsters, and also another group who are composed of the island’s residents the Evolution group (Star Driver reference) complete with masks and FABULOUS outfits, are trying to stop the students from this goal, thats just only the first half of the story but for now its Ayumu’s journey to get his Harem to prepare the next half of the fight.

The first bishoujo that Ayumu will use engagement on, shes known in school to work and battle alone, part of her character development lies in the fact shes alone and her reason why she works alone, quite tsun tsun and a little dere acts as the leader to team Unison until Ayumu gets his entire harem, at the height of 144cm with a huge bust an oppai loli, her weapon is a hammer, gameplay wise a slow hard hitter; power of gravity/earth
エーリカ・フォン・アウフシュナイター (Erika Von Auguschnaiter)
The forth heremette
An oujo, a bit tsundere and has a strong rivalry towards Kanae and by proxy Ayumu with his Harem… along with Kanae, was the leader of the Team she once led until Ayumu uses Engagement on her and is well assimilated into Team Unison her weapon is a set of rapier and shield, gameplay wise agile and speed is her key quite a fast character and fits my play style therefore shes the most used character in the Harem of Ayumu; power of Wind
上音 真白 (Kamine Mashiro)
The fifth haremette
a COOL loli emphasis on COOL, also a loner because she can’t use her power of ICE correctly and literally lives in a freezer COOL room, soft-spoken but aggressive with the Harem competition, has the shades of a kuudere. Considers Ayumu to be her first friend, weapon is a grappling lance; gameplay wise shes more of a grappling character with her power to freeze opponents then drag them with her lance for CQC pretty hard to handle quite dependent on support as well, power of ICE literally a COOL loli
御堂金 光 (Midoukane Hikaru)
The second haremette
A character of for revenge for killing her master, she explains the use of enigmite on the engagement board to further improve the harem’s stats, has the shades of an onee-chan chara but not much weapon is a glaive variant,gameplay wise with her glaive she can reach wide angles helpful against flying enemies which were a pain early in game until I got Erika, power of metal/steel
白藤・アンジェリーヌ・つぼみ (Shirafuji Angeline Tsubomi)
The third haremette
An inventing “genius” however some of her creations do fail from time to time, attuned in hacking she has a somewhat deeper involvement in the game’s plot uhh so spoilers there, weapon is a rocket launcher, gameplay wise a zoner, power of lightning.

Textbox and Selection
Similar to Hotch Kiss clean and simple and is really just a gradiented box overlay
The original text color of the selections are white but change to yellow upon selecting them once clue the final selection is key to the route lock and only happens by chapter 11 but to get them you need to max out the engagement board of the respecting haremette.
I don’t know what GIGA was thinking when they just decided for TEAM BALDR to scrapped the replay backlog with their other recent game Hotch Kiss… WHY! WHY! that was the most helpful system gimmick that Hotch Kiss had which could be used on a more linear plot story and they just can’t simply reason out because of gameplay <_<
Same with Hotch Kiss nothing too different except you dont have the cast being displayed on your textbox like the Mascot feature on Hotch Kiss
like Hotch Kiss you also have a text modification quick menu found on the bottom left of the screen
Save and Load
this is the game map uhh for every area you explore you drain stamina points the stamina points are found along the bottom of the screen max of 99 points so take care of dungeon crawling due to the fact you have limited movement, newly explored areas cost more points than explored areas which costs you 1 point secret areas my cost more stamina points but I’m not that certain.
Battle Screen is simple you have 3 action buttons z, x, and c. on the bottom part of the screen you have the tension gauge to fill it up you can connect cancels to your attack but magic wont be that much effective in combat if you have low tension gauge so fill up you tension gauge first before spewing out magic, on the top portion of the screen you have the LIBIDO gauge, filling up the LIBIDO gauge warrants an Icha Icha scene due to Engagement’s side-effect of feeling horny and wanting to Icha Icha with the guy who has the convenient power of Engagement; Ayumu so take care with your Icha Icha decisions because they take up action points in the world map.
Similar to FFX’s Sphere grid or I say a variant of FFXII’s License grid basically this board details out how you grow your characts with the use of emmendite crystals that you gain as you fight enemies divided into 2 parts per character grid 1/2 is for stat growth while the other half is for character exclusive skills/buffs.
For every major boss fight you enter this menu you basically set up you items and party for the upcoming fights also included here is the dungeon exploring before properly entering a dungeon you are visited by this screen.
Well its given in the Title screen so no gimmick.
The music was compose by a small group of composers one of which is MANYO overall not that good but I do like the final music playing while upgrading the engagement board it bring that “epic” feel to the guilty story. And no its not because its Shu-real. Same gimmick presented by Hotch Kiss.
I have mixed feelings about this game in terms of its narrative it suffers some sort of writer’s block in terms of how each event is presented first you have events that look reminiscent to the events of Star Driver, having a “mysterious” group of people who are experimenting with a strong power willing to sell it to the world, then next you have an Adam and Eve story with concepts taken straight from Guilty Crown I’ll not even say how RECENT Guilty Crown is, Ayumu “collecting” haremettes to Shu collecting Void Weapons, Emmendite to the Apocalypse Virus, I’ll not even take into context how each plot device twists people’s minds and is testing human Evolution it just makes sense that its seriously trying to be Guilty Crown but its not but it is! therefore not a good plus on my sense think of concepts that seem to radicalize a given plot then its a good plus on me. And no DRACU-RIOT did’nt do that either its not vampires and lycanthropes no DRACU-RIOT vandalized the concepts in my term therefore I’ll put into supernatural category that’s not in par of Vampire action.
PS: Mashiro is cute, while Erika is a god sent character for my play style.
