Genre: Slice-of-life, Country Life, Childhood story?, Mystery (somewhat…) and Summer
Character Designer: 桜沢いづみ
Scenario:  沖水ミル

Introduction

with no any information about the protagonist of the story I’ll be taking some info from Micchi’s site

Story starts with Katsu visiting Takaragi-Chou in summer from the money he has earned so far to visit his cousin, well considering that he’s a city boy and comes into town unexpected with only the address for his cousin’s house in hand, and so he gets lost and ends up on the beach which he drowns on cause he does’nt know how to swim, to which he gets saved from a back haired girl. And so the entire childhood parts kicks into gear its all about Katsu spending his entire summer with his cousin who turns out to be the black haired girl who saved him while drowning who introduces herself as Natsuki. And so ends the prologue with him going back to the city and gets introduced to more characters.

Characters

沢渡 夏雪 (Sawatari Natsuki)

Onee-san of the game, and has all the motherly traits you could ever ask for. Yeah… barely has the character dynamics of what I could ask for but if you guys out there has a thing for Onee0chan characters then look no more herpa derp… and kudos for her topping the recent poll.

宮沢 純葉 (Miyazawa Itoha)

Genki-girl and is quite tomboyish, she aspires to be a manga-ka and carries with her a sketchbook most of the time.

幹 那由多 (Miki Nayuta)

A tsundere Oujou but you know the effects of meeting Natsuki changes her so much its soo… yah made her a very appealing character. Is it just me or this is one of the shortest character profile I have made…

System

Title Screen

The Title Screen as shown in the first picture plain and simple with the predominant blue… well no much gimmicks to take note off so yeah…

Textbox and Selection

Again like the title screen its predominant blue and is quite clean and straight forward well all the words are in kanji so yeah… made me forgot what save word was when I was playing utawarerumono way back then lol.

Theres only one selection in game… so yeah… its not even that “straightforward”…

Backlog

The backlog a bit on the greenish hue and well like all backlogs you guys should know the drift yeah… well its simple and clean thats one thing I know for sure.

System Menu

Ahhh just like uhh… Marguerite Sphere the system color scheme only differs from bright yellow to blue meh… well too bad that I can’t make a review for Marguerite Sphere. well I dont have enough “Drive” to go through the game, you know like Micchi’s passion for imoutos…

Save and Load

Cue in the blue color contrast to the pink ones I posted quite some time ago ago haha @_@ not much difference other than you have 100 save slots and only that.

Well the load screen is just the same as the save screen except you can not save <_< >_> I’m just pointing out the obvious yes?…

Omake

CG mode

Well considering the length of the game I guess  you can say that the CG are lacking in numbers, but not in a single minute did I think of it no gimmicks and again is quite plain.. probably that could be the entire point of the game’s UI <_< >_>.

Recollection Mode

I’m feeling guilty here for using a savedata after playing 2 routes of the game… well I can’t say much about the H-scenes but for me something personal Nayuta’s route will make you go DAAAWWW lol XD. Cause trust me by the time the first H scene hits you you might start liking her character.

Music Mode

The music well… I find them soso not bad or good but somewhere in the mediocre range…. god reminds me so much how I hated the wasted talent on Nekonade Distortion… in terms of music that is.

Opinions/Last Word

Well to those who like their Onee-sans and a heavy slice-of-life game I guess this could be one of the games that could interest you people, but other than that some scenarios even though its made by one person feels something lacking not that it became boring or anything… but somewhere in the lines of lack of compelling to thrust through the story… (It’s probably just me though). Well that concludes the review until I find a better game I won’t probably be reviewing for a long time.

Ratings

Story: 6/10
Character: 9/10
CGs: 9/10
Music: 6/10

This game was beautiful during the common route. The first few summers were unforgettable. The characters were not particularly deep but you feel attached to them because of the conflict they go through together. In fact, not even that, it’s because they are just absolutely adorable!

Although not every summer was equal, there were always one or two items of interest that made me want to play through them, even the sloppier ones. And then…

And then the routes begin – and everything slams into pure averageness. The magic is gone. It’s as if someone turned on treadmill-mode.

Also Algester, I think you shouldn’t put the character’s grown-up portraits in your review because they are spoilers imo. Part of the fun of playing Natsuyuki was seeing the characters grow up and the tachi-e changing as you play. Put images of the character’s loli-form if anything.

I’ll be honest, I would be playing this if it wasn’t for the facial graphics…>_<
    I can't stand it. Those eyes…are…eating…my…soul…

Sounds worth checking out. Well, as soon as I clear Kourin no Machi and other backlogged material. I do like the art and character designs.
